Antique, reclaimed limestone salvaged from the Burgundy Region of France, known as Bourgogne, is one of the most sought-after materials on the market today. When originally quarried hundreds of years ago, the local artisans had to split this extremely dense limestone by hand instead of sawing them into dalles. This hand-hewn technique created the variation in size, color and texture which makes it unique, distinctive, and desirable. Many centuries later, as we reclaim this material from farmhouses, chateaux, and monasteries in the region, we and extremely durable slabs gently marked by time. The bottom cut material that’s left after the top layers of time-worn patina are removed varies between warm beige, sand and grey tones with subtle undulations that will bring rustic French beauty and charm to your project.
